Help us raise funds for a new home from home
Home from home campaign
It’s time for a new home. We've brought so much joy to our neurodivergent members through a range of activities, Key to joy have outgrown our small, shared venue (our humble little Scout Hut), and need a new home.
Until now, funding has primarily to increase activities and resources for our members, which will continue through match funding our National Lottery Community Fund grant. However, the need for a new venue is also important both for the experience of existing members but also to enable us to reach more adults that need us.
A larger premises would enhance member experience and enable us to support more adults with learning difficulties, neurodiversity, mental health challenges and SEN.
Why is a new
venue important?
As it stands, our small shared venue, the Scout Hut, is near capacity for membership and only available three days a week. This means:
We are restricted on the number or type of activities we can provide
There’s limited storage facilities for equipment and resources
Little autonomy on how we use the space
Lack of control on the environment to improve health and safety required
Impact of a new home
Time
Removing the 3-day a week restriction and hourly window, means we can give members more frequent access and further support throughout the week.
Independence
In a shared space we struggle with storage, security and time wasted with opening and closing. Our own space means we can remove those limitations.
Impact
Reaching more adults with learning difficulties that need a community like ours. Helping us bang the drum and increase awareness too.
Space
More space will enable us to expand membership and reach more people. We can increase the types of activities and build safe fit-for-purpose environments.
Donate during BigGive (3-10 Dec)
Our first big push for our Home from Home campaign will be as part of the BigGive Christmas Challenge, which runs for 4-days in December. To make our match-funding target and secure funds for a new venue, we need all donations to be made in that period via the BigGive. You can learn more about the campaign and how to donate following the link below.
