HOME FROM HOME CAMPAIGN

Bringing joy to our members with a new Home from Home

We've brought so much joy to our members, we've outgrown our small shared venue and need a new home. We are raising funds for a larger premises, which would not only enhance member experience, it will enable us to support more adults with learning difficulties and neurodiversity.

Our small, shared venue is at capacity for membership and only available three days a week. This means we are restricted on activity potential, have limited storage facilities and little autonomy on how we use the space or management on health and safety required for our members. There's also a lack of local council and government support and low awareness on the needs for adults with mild to moderate learning difficulties and neurodiversity nationally and locally - the forgotten ones.
We need to find a larger premises with adequate space, inside and out, to provide a wider range of activities and enable more flexible access for existing members and attract more members that need our support. Further space will also enable us to host events, outreach to the community and expand our awards scheme.

Why do we need a new venue?

Space

More space will enable us to expand membership and reach more people

Time

More frequent access and further support throughout the week.

Independence

Our own space will enable more fit for purpose space and storage onsite.

Reach

Reaching more adults with learning difficulties that need our support.

Why is a new
venue important?

As it stands, our small shared venue, the Scout Hut, is near capacity for membership and only available three days a week. This means:

  • We are restricted on the number or type of activities we can provide

  • Thereโ€™s limited storage facilities for equipment and resources

  • Little autonomy on how we use the space

  • Lack of control on the environment to improve health and safety required

Your support would make a significant difference in helping us to achieve our goal!
